Unwelcome guests....

Well, My littleone has been hostess to some unwelcome guests for the past several days and honestly I am getting worried that they are going to drive her nuts, for one of the guests that would be a delight ( lol )..... Below is a picture of this guest that I am talking about. A very cute looking animal but at the moment a highly destructive monster in the walls and laundry room of My subbie's condo.

The other guest is another thing and I wish strongly those BASTARDS that write computer viruses would be found and would be dealt with a dam good flogging with the largest cat-of-nine-tails! littleone has been hit once again with a virus that Norton Anti-Virus software hasn't caught in over two years, yes two years...
Symantec, the company that produces this software, has gotten to big for its own boots and has forgotten their clients... Have you every tried to get an answer from them by talking directly to a real live person working there?? Well littleone has tried and has gotten the run around for weeks now. I guess it is time to start looking around for a better Anti-Virus software company..

These guests are definitely knot like the last ones at the condo, CLoud and karis, now they are true guests that would and will be welcome back soon once CLoud's eye recovers from His surgery He had on it Monday morning. Just to let you know that CLoud is ok for the most part but He needs to rest it for a good week, something I do hope He will do this time instead of pushing Himself like He has done in the past....

Hopefully those unwelcome guests will be gone soon so littleone can focus on the 103 toothpick ass challenge that kaya's Master has raised the bar to a level of 70 at the moment....

May the best ass win !!!

I found McAfee to be a pretty decent program, especially with their "Internet Security package, which combines, firewall, antivirus, and privacy tools in one go.

Saying that: Any antivirus is as good as the updates the company send out. Any 0-Day virus will always be likely to slip past the nets.

something to be said to be running a non-windows operating system

SeaRabbit,

there used to be a story once, how a certain company would give rewards for virii found and virii disabled. They stopped this when they found out that virii were actually written by the programmers that were paid to disable them.

However many virii are not written by the AV companies afaik. usual it is written by someone possesing a high quality of skill and too much time and wanting to show off as what can be done against window systems .

It's kind of annoying, I am lucky enough to have been only infected once by a virus and that was largely my own fault lol

Try AVG Free Edition for a good anti-virus scanner. I've been using it for a couple years now.

I realize I am late, but geeky posts make me breathless so I had to write. I use Norton's Corporate version, XP's firewall backed by the free version of Zone Alarm, WebRoot's spysweeper (I started out with the free version and saved my laptop from self destruction and now have the paid version, it was less than 20USD) I also have installed Spyware Dr and Ad-Aware (the free versions) but don't keep them running, I just sweep with them once in a while and I have yet to pick up anything that these forces do not keep at bay. I ahve been known to go to some very questionable places and with these in place, I feel confident I am fully protected. So far so good (knock on wood) On my desktop I have never been infected with anything that isn't cleared up or caught the moment it enters the system. (the laptop was another story and perhaps I should have worn a computer condom BEFORE I ventured out into the net) I am all about safe sex which is basically what going online is to me :)

WebRoots SpySweeper is amazing, I would suggest it to EVERYONE.
